AARLens [New Tech & ASD Project]
Designer and Project Manager for AARLens, which is an R+D+i project that develops applications for mobile devices aimed at users with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their tutors (educators and family members) attending to daily situations in their most common environment (educational and family), with the aim of improving their quality of life.
It is currently developing an application for mobile devices and web (just available in Spain), based Pictograms that focuses on the development of Anticipation and Motivation skills. At the same time, the application allows real-time tutoring to motivate users with ASD through a personalised reward system. For this purpose, a programmed online Agenda has been developed, available in real time, which can be created, modified or executed from any place with Internet access. The tutor will have the necessary permissions to be able to configure the agenda of one or several users simultaneously, at the same time as the TEA-AF user can be given permissions to configure his/her own agenda.
At the same time, the application allows real-time tutoring to motivate users with ASD through a personalised reward system. It also has extra functions such as a stopwatch to time waiting times, or a first augmented reality (AR) experience associated with 3D objects that allows the ASD user to become familiar with the professional equipment used by a dentist.
The implementations and improvements made in AARLens have followed participatory methodologies with tutors from associations and special education schools through workshops:
Created in collaboration with Astrade Non Profit Organization, promoted by Integra Foundation and funded by European fund.
